Here's what to do to prepare for bad weather
If it becomes necessary for schools to close because of bad weather or for any other reason (such as power failure), announcements will be carried on the Chesterfield County Public Schools web site and submitted to local radio and television stations.

Several methods for communicating emergency closings or bus delays are used in the event that one or more method is not operating during a crisis.
To determine if there is a school closing or delay, be sure to check the CCPS web site, CCPS TV on Comcast channel 96, and local television stations.
Effective before the start of winter this year, Chesterfield County Public Schools will no longer be using SchoolsOut as a means of notifying parents about weather-related school closings or delays.
bullet Weather related information, as well as information about emergencies is now being transmitted via phone and email though ParentLink.
Parents should be sure to keep their contact information current at their children's schools.
At the beginning of each school year, families should make emergency closing child-care arrangements so that students know what to do and where to go if early dismissals become necessary.
